Κick-off meeting DIONE

EEO Group organised at its premises in Athens (on March the 7th), the Kick-off meeting of the new DIONE project, which was awarded under the R.E.C. Programme. DIONE, which started in February 2019 and will last 24 months, brings together 5 competent Greek organisations, including EEO Group, the Ministry of Labour, Social Security & Welfare, Harokopio University, AKMI Vocational Institute SA and Symplexis.

The project aims to address the phenomenon of dismissing women employees during and after pregnancy, as well as their unfavourable treatment due to parenthood leave, by adopting an integrated and systemic approach of intervention. DIONE aspires to support public authorities in tackling discriminatory behaviors in the labour market; to inform women and employers about rights & obligations and to support victims of discrimination in pursuing their legally protected rights. During the meeting, the partners had the opportunity to introduce their organisations and their contribution in the project, and coordinate the project tasks and their activities in the first months of the project. EEO Group was represented by Ms. Olga Marinea, project manager and Ms. Viktoria Topalidi, financial manager.

EEO Group, who is the coordinator of the project, presented a roadmap of activities to be implemented throughout the project lifecycle, as well as the project management and financial procedures’ mechanisms to take place. Ultimately, the partners had the opportunity to discuss aspects, trends and existing practices in the Greek labour market, setting the ground for a robust cooperation within the next two years.
