AKMI EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATION SA organized and hosted a 5-days Transnational Meeting in Athens with partners and stakeholders from Germany, Latvia, Spain and Italy. The meeting was part of the “Exchange of Good Practices in the matter of Early Stage Career Orientation for Pupils and Young People” Project, with the acronym YouCareOn.
YouCareOn is a 24-month European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 “Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practices” under the leadership of the Centrum für Innovation und Technologie GmbH (CIT Ltd) in Germany represented by its Project Ass. Ms. Theresa Kahle. Moderators of this Transnational Meeting in Athens were the Consultants Mrs. Giorina Maratsi and Mr. Andreas Pallis.
The main objective of the YouCareOn Project is to foster the education competences of the involved project partners as well as teachers in the matter of early professional career orientation and guidance for pupils/students of public schools, schools with gymnasium upper level, special education schools and high schools.
The Activities and Workshops in Athens were focused in the sectors of Tourism, Catering and Applied Arts. Furthermore, they contained visits at the premises of AKMI Group of Companies and a luxurious 4-star hotel:
They included also numerous presentations regarding the career development of pupils and professionals and how AKMI identifies and covers the need of exceptional workforce in the job market.
More specifically, the covered topics include:
- The hospitality industry in turbulent times
- Career hunting in hospitality
- AKMI methodology on career orientation and current trends
- Creative and cultural industry in Greece
- Skills in public speaking
- Gastronomy communication
- Digital media in tourism
The meeting concluded with a presentation on Career coaching for youth from the Certified Career & Executive Coach and U-Grow founder Mrs. Konstantina Pandoulia.
