During the period of 24-28 September 2018, EEO Group S.A organized the Workshop Teachers Train the Trainers which took place at the Lyceum of Thrakomakedones, within the framework of the Erasmus+, Key Action 2 project "Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices", "EURO4SCIENCE 2.0 PROJECT Spin Off of a Forensic Science Educational Strategy Promoting Scientific Literacy and European Students Citizenship".
The training was carried out by 2 specialized professors from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. 12 teachers participated from the Lyceum of Thrakomakedones and the 3rd Gymnasium of Nea Filadelfeia. During the Workshop the program and methods of forensic analysis, such as blood analysis and fingerprinting techniques, were presented. The teachers who participated in the Workshop were certified to become accredited users of this toolbox.
The aim of the project is to improve the existing educational toolbox of forensic science, with materials and activities for teachers and students. The project goal is to strengthen the profile of teachers and to enhance their skills in Mathematics and Physics through effective and interactive methods. At the same time, students will have the opportunity to come closer to the science of Criminology while also developing their interest in the science of Physics, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Several EU countries (Greece, Poland, Portugal, Bulgaria, the UK) and Turkey participate in the program. The lead partner of the scheme is the University of Aveiro, from Portugal.
